(MCT)--Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis has sold his home in Malibu that features a custom swimming pool with a diving platform for $1.8 million.

The home, built in 1980, faces the ocean on a hillside lot of more than an acre. The 3,385 square feet of living space includes vaulted ceilings, three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a guest suite. The master suite has a sitting room and a fireplace.

The second floor opens onto a large viewing deck and a staircase leading down to the swimming pool, spa and platform. Tiles bearing the Olympic rings insignia can be seen on the bottom of the pool.

The El Cajon, Calif., native, 54, won gold medals in the springboard and platform competitions at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He returned to the sport in 2012 as a mentor to Olympic hopefuls and is the co-author of the 1995 bestselling autobiography “Breaking the Surface.”

The Malibu home was put on the market in March as a $15,000-a-month rental, then listed for sale in April at just shy of $3 million.
